IHF Donation Drive for Flood Relief Campaign 2020

Incessant heavy monsoon rainfall, coupled with rising water levels in the three major river basins and hilly areas upstream, have led to major flooding in northern, north-eastern and south-eastern Bangladesh. Approximately one-third of Bangladesh is currently under water and almost 2 million people are in dire need of support. Most of those affected are already living in emergency shelters or in other temporary settlements. Due to constant lockdown for COVID-19, these families were already in sufferings in terms of financial stability and livelihood opportunities and this prolonged flood situation added more stress on them. In such crisis, like always It’s Humanity Foundation launched Emergency Flood Support Campaign for affected people of northern Bangladesh as situation is getting worse day by day there. This campaign targets to raise funds for flood victims and provide them necessary food items, hygiene kits and also other necessary packages for home-stuck families.

We are calling for donations to help and support flood victims and primarily we are targeting families of Kurigram, Dinajpur, Shirajganj and some other places of Northern Bangladesh where people are stuck for days due to the water log. Already under our campaign, we provided dry ration and hygiene kit among 150-180 families. But there is more we need to stand by in this crisis moment. We will provide different flood relief packets like-

Ongoing pandemic and them this prolonged flood is causing huge sufferings to this marginalized families and this is the time everyone should come forward for sake of humanity. করোনা ভাইরাসের দীর্ঘস্থায়ী প্রকোপের মাঝে বন্যার ভয়াল আঘাতে দেশের প্রায় অর্ধকোটি মানুষ চরম অসহায় অবস্থায় জীবনযাপন করছে। কিন্তু যত দিন যাচ্ছে, বন্যা আর নদী ভাঙ্গনের মধ্যে সব কিছু হারিয়ে লক্ষ লক্ষ মানুষ এখন না খেয়ে আশ্রয়কেন্দ্রে অনিশ্চয়তার মধ্যে দিন কাটাচ্ছে। আইএইচএফ এর পক্ষ থেকে ইতিমধ্যে আমরা উত্তরবঙ্গের কয়েকশো ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ মানুষদের কাছে শুকনা খাবার এবং স্বাস্থ্য-সুরক্ষা দ্রব্য পৌঁছে দিয়ে কিছুটা সাহায্য করতে পেরেছি। আমরা চেষ্টা করছি যতটা সম্ভব এরকম পরিবার গুলোর কাছে বিভিন্ন রকম সাহায্য পৌঁছে দেয়ার এবং শুধুমাত্র আপনাদের একটু মানবিক সহযোগিতার হাত পেলে এই পরিবার গুলো দুর্যোগ মোকাবেলার জন্যে ঘুরে দাঁড়ানোর শক্তি পাবে।

প্রাথমিকভাবে আমরা উত্তরবঙ্গের সবচেয়ে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ জেলাগুলিতে পানিবন্দি হয়ে আটকে পড়া পরিবারগুলোর কাছে আমাদের রিলিফ প্যাকেজগুলো পৌঁছে দেয়ার চেষ্টা করবো।আপনার ছোট্ট অনুদান এ কিছু মানুষ কয়েকদিন এক বেলা হলেও পেট ভরে খেতে পারবে এবং নিজেদের স্বাস্থ্য-সুরক্ষা নিশ্চিত করতে পারবে। পাশাপাশি আমরা ঘরে আটকে পড়া শিশু-কিশোরদের জন্যে ষ্টেশনারী কিট পৌঁছে দিবো যদি সম্ভব হয় যেন তারা পড়াশোনাটা কিছুটা হলেও চালিয়ে যেতে পারে।
