Earthquake & Disaster Preparedness Awareness Session at Jagannath University

On July 23, 2025, It’s Humanity Foundation, in collaboration with the Centre for Climate, Society and Environment (CCSE) of Jagannath University, organized an impactful “Earthquake and Disaster Preparedness Awareness Session,” attended by over 130 students.

Key speakers included Md. Adnan Hossain, Founder and Executive Director, It’s Humanity Foundation; Dr. Md. Abdul Malak, Director, CCSE; Dr. Muhammad Al-Amin Hoque, Acting Chairman, Department of Geography and Environment; and Professor Dr. Sabina Sharmin, Treasurer, Jagannath University. They highlighted Bangladesh’s vulnerability to disasters and emphasized the urgent need for preparedness at individual and community levels.

The Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Md. Rezaul Karim, PhD, attended the session as the Chief Guest.

The technical session featured practical insights and interactive activities led by Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdul Quader, Deputy Director, CCSE, and Ms. Apurba Swatee Mahboob, Project Manager, UNDP.


The event concluded with an open discussion and group photos.
