Restoring Our Wetlands: A Step Towards a Sustainable Future: IHF X Commercial Bank of Ceylon
Our wetland and canal cleaning and restoration initiative has officially begun with a meaningful and inspiring inauguration ceremony. This marks the start of a journey dedicated to protecting our natural ecosystems and promoting environmental sustainability.
The initiative brought together a range of activities designed to both inform and engage the community. We shared our vision and detailed plans for the initiative, hosted awareness sessions on the importance of wetland conservation, and conducted on-site visits to observe the ongoing cleaning efforts. In addition, tree plantation drives were carried out to support ecological balance, and essential hygiene materials were distributed among the workers to ensure their well-being and safety.

The presence of distinguished members of the Syedpur community added great value to the event, making it more vibrant, collaborative, and impactful. Their support reflects a shared commitment to safeguarding our environment for future generations.
This initiative is a joint effort by It’s Humanity Foundation (IHF), Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Bangladesh, and the Syedpur Municipality. Together, we are not only working towards restoring wetlands but also striving to raise awareness and inspire long-term behavioral change within communities.
As we move forward, our goal remains clear: to continue protecting our environment through sustained action, community engagement, and collective responsibility.
