Safe Food for All: Empowering Families Through Safe and Nutritious Food

On the fourth day of our Safe Food for All campaign, It’s Humanity Foundation, in collaboration with Orenda & Beans, hosted a powerful and interactive session dedicated to food safety and nutrition awareness.

Held within one of our community learning centers, the session brought together parents, caregivers, and children for a day of learning, sharing, and empowerment. The discussion centered around three critical aspects of everyday health:

  • Understanding the importance of safe, hygienic food preparation
  • Exploring the nutritional value of common household ingredients
  • Learning how to prepare balanced meals for children—without stretching the family budget

The goal was simple but significant: to ensure that every household—regardless of income—has the knowledge and tools to make healthy food choices for their children.

\What made the session impactful was its practicality. Caregivers didn’t just listen; they participated. They shared their own challenges and discovered easy, low-cost ways to boost nutrition using local ingredients. Many were surprised to learn how much they could do with just a few changes in daily habits—like washing vegetables properly, reducing oil and salt intake, and including simple protein sources in meals.

“I always thought healthy food was expensive. Now I know it’s about smart choices, not just money,” shared Rina, a mother of two attending the session.

This initiative is part of our larger mission to promote health equity, ensuring that children not only have access to education, but also the nutrition they need to thrive in school and life.

Because healthy food should never be a privilege—it should be a right.
Accessible. Safe. Affordable. For everyone.

We’re proud to continue building awareness, changing habits, and improving lives—one session, one meal, one family at a time.
